Proof of an evolving made up art not an ancient one

I have been acccused in the first article where I refer to Niddars changing and adding to his origiinal message of 12 years ago when I first came across him. A really lovely Singh I know sent me an old document entitled “The Fighting Traditions And Fighting Arts Of
The Traditional Sikh Warriors” published in 1998. Where the ancient art is called “Chatka Gatka”. Continue reading Proof of an evolving made up art not an ancient one

Letter from Nihang Jathedars Excommunicating Nidar Singh – EXCLUSIVE !!!

With Guru Gobind Singh ji’s Apaar beant Kirpa have received the following anonymous tip-off. It has emerged that our concerns are shared by many Chardi Klaa Nihang Singhs who are speaking up against Niddars false and destructive propaganda, and someone has kindly forwarded us a copy of a signed document in which these Nihang Singhs express their feelings about him.

We have definitive proof that Niddar Singh is not a representative or in any way affiliated to any Nihang Sansthava.

On Niddars website – http://www.shastarvidiya.org/akhara5.jsp
he writes “As such, Nihang Niddar Singh, as the Sanatan Hindu Sikh Shastar Vidiya ‘Gurdev’ and Buddha Dal-recognised Nihang ‘Jathedar’ in England is the head.”

This is a blatant LIE and we have the proof here. In actual fact he has been excommunicated from all Nihang Dals and the Damdami Taskal.

Here is a letter from the main Nihang Organisations in India presented to Jathedar of the Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Gurbachan Singh.

The following is a translation of the letter

To the Esteemed Jathedar of the Akaal Takht,

We feel compelled to bring to your attention that Niddar Singh aka Surjit Singh bains of Wolverhampton UK is involved in anti Sikh consipiracies by doing anti-Sikh parchaar on his websites and diluting the sikh philosophy by teaching that Sikhs are a part of Hinduism. With his heinous teachings(koorr parchar) he is misleading the Sikh sangat.

He keeps changing the name of his akhara on his website to include names such as “Hindu Santan Shiv Akhara” and is falsely using the name of Jathedar Akali Baba Darbara Singh to legitimise himself.

Niddar Singh is stating that the Khalsa was born from Shiv Ji and not guru Gobind Singh ji. He also proclaims falsely that the “Farla” of Nihang Singhs is sprouted from the ganges river and that blue bana is from the colour of Shiva. He is also saying that the chakar that Nihang Singhs wear on their dumalla is a sign of Shivji.

He is saying that the Sikh dharam emerged from hinduism and that Sikhi is just another samparda of the Hindu dharam and is also teaching that Sikh Shastar Vidiya and Gatka is a branch of the Hindu Dharam.

Niddar Singhs activities in the uk are upsetting and dividing Sikhs there. Guru Gobind Singh ji made the Khalsa unique. This fake Nihang is spreading doubts, confusion and slander within the sikh sangat.

On the 300th celebration of Guru Granth Ji’s Gurgaddi the sangat of  Hazur Sahib kicked him out due to his nefarious activities and anti Sikh parchaar.

By putting the concerns of the panth first we recomend that this individual is brought before the Akal Takht to answer for his crimes and receive punishment accordingly and the sikh sangat be freed of this confusion.

Shastar Vidiya in World War 2

I have heard many of Niddars students talking of Shastar Vidiya as the “lost art” “essential for all sikhs to learn” “without shastarvidiya sikhs could not have won wars” “Sikhs are weak without Shastar Vidiya training” and this is all in the context of expressing the art of Niddar as the timeless art. Well I have to disagree very strongly.

The Sikh Regiment is to this day recognised as one of the bravest forces to fight during the world wars winning medals, accolades and victoria cross medals. In the years to 1945, 14 Victoria Crosses were awarded to the Sikhs, a per capita record given the size of the Sikh Regiments. In 2002, the names of all Sikh VC and George Cross winners were inscribed on the pavilion monument of the Memorial Gates on Constitution Hill next to Buckingham Palace, London. Guru Gobind Singh jis view of Snatan Hindu vidya and deities

These are some excerpts from Guru Gobind Singh Jis own words from Dasam Granth. Clearly we can see from these that Guru Gobind singh ji only worshiped the almighty Vaheguru and bowed to noone else

Guru Gobind Singh ji translated stories about the devi, devtey because it is a part of the history of the world but he did not worship any of them.

But why? Shastar Vidiya

I came across Niddar and his crew around 12 or so years ago, and he seemed like a harmless enough guy, had some crazy ideas and didn’t give it much thought. Many of my friends started learning what started off as Gatka, then became Hatka, then became, Jhatka Gatka, then became Shastar Vidiya, then became Hindu Sikh Snatam Shastar Vidiya. Things changed a lot, and as other martial artists started to attend, Niddar started to assimilate their techniques into what he claimed was an ancient complete martial art. “old words new meanings”. What we see today from shastarvidiya is a development over the last ten years. Being someone who has seen the transition in style, I can tell you that Niddar moves differently now and his techniques have changed and new ones have been introduced. Now there is nothing wrong with adaption and evolution of a style, indeed it is needed for a style to remain current and relevant. However, for martial arts purists as Niddar claims to be, this is a problem. If he had learned and ancient and unadulterated style from the last master years ago, where is the new material coming from? Why the change in name and philosophy?

So whats the problem? let him carry on, hes only teaching martial arts

Well the proof came over time, for myself anyway. I am a pretty chilled out guy, and very open to diversity and oneness. But over time, I started to see altogether sinister change in the people who went to train with him. Dear friends of mine who had become Niddars students started to change in their behaviour in their outlook and gradually I found it harder and harder to sit with them. Their practices continued to shock me and other people who approached me to discuss it. Being unable to defend the behavior and words of my old friends, I didn’t know what to say other than: “the Gurus Sikhs do not do this kind of thing”. It just didn’t seem right.

Last Sikh Warrior?

Have to say that when I wasnt laughing at the ridiculous “kung-fu master” of this story I found this one pretty offensive, as it implies that there are no more Nihangs or Sikh warriors left in the whole of the world.

So are we all dead? Sarey Singh Margey? How can Nidar come along and make such an egotistical and offensive remark and question our ability, allegiance and dedication to the Guru and to the Khalsa that we are not also warriors and willing to serve the guru

When Guru Gobind Singh ji Baptised the Panj Pyarey they were not trained martial artists they were normal people, but they were willing to give their head for Dharam and their Guru. Every Sikh who loves their Guru and their Sikhi is the last Sikh warrior in the eyes of the Guru so this statement is a foolish one to make. The Guru said that “chiri naal baaj larau” that he will make the common man fight the hunters.

When Bhai Dulla came to Guru Gobind Singh Ji to show off his warriors, Guru Gobind Singh ji asked him to bring forth some soldiers so that he could test his gun, and none of dullas famous soldiers stepped forward, yet two Singhs from the kitchens came running to take a bullet for the Guru.

Let us hear what Guru Gobind Singh ji has to say about these so called great trained warriors in Tav Prasad Swaiye from Sri Dasam Granth. Continue reading Last Sikh Warrior?
